hmmm... how am i gonna rock?

It was just awesome yesterday to hear the stories of the folks from Living Water Community Church (Dalton, Ohio). Their stories were so inspiring! Something that seemed to be common to all of them was that they really didn't know how they'd be able to do what God had laid on their hearts, but they took the risk to do it anyway. That's real faith! That's being a real follower of Jesus!

That's just the kind of follower I want be... one who thinks forward to the possibilities and the "what if..." of faith, one who isn't bound to what has already been done or what is comfortable for me. Jesus lived life 'out of the box,' always surprising his hearers and followers as to what he'd do or how he'd do it. You'd never be bored hangin' out with Jesus. After all, if kids were always surrounding him, he must have been a blast to be around.

"Rock Our World" goes much deeper than serving. It is an opportunity to let our minds be changed as to what God can accomplish through people who say "Yes!" to him. It's also an opportunity to retrain our minds to look for the needs around us and decide that "I" am going to do something (as opposed to the much easier "The church should do something.") It's our shining chance to not just talk church, but do church and be church.

I hope your minds are already starting to think about the possibilities. I hope you are already starting to talk about opportunities and ideas with your small groups.

It's gonna be great!!!
