Sunday at GFMC

It was a great day of worship and challenge yesterday at GFMC! Here's a recap of what took place:

The Message...

Our values are worship, service, connection. Our vision: Becoming followers of Jesus who get: it's about him, not me; it's about them, not me; it's about us, not me.

Here's our BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) for 2010: We are going to Rock our World! During the month of August, everybody in our church will serve someone outside the church in the name of Jesus!

Dying to self begins when we own up to our sin and confess it to God, and it continues as we remain dead to sin.

We live Jesus as we take on his primary identity: servant! What makes Jesus tick? He lives to serve others! He is not asking us do more, he is asking us to be a new person. Serving him is a privilege, not a chore.

What Jesus wants should be what we want. Our answer to him should always be "Yes!"

The Music...

"Not to Us" - Chris Tomlin
"Shine"/"Take My Life and Let It Be" - Matt Redman
